this engine must not have the automatic compression release on the cam, so it has to be a 4hp.

the model number should be embossed on the shaft end of the motor

wow your right. it sounds like it has a whole lot more compression than my 7 hp. do you know the number on the carburetor? i didn't know a tecumseh carb worked with a kholer.

tones of compression! never seen that much compresion before(more than on a brand new 2 stroke chainsaw!)
and any carb works (tried a briggs carb and a mikuni carb and it also worked)

ok, i was just wondering which one worked best for the configuration.

any carb works since you set it up propely(some briggs carb dont t have ajustments and also some tecunseh carb)
the best ones are the old version carbs from briggs(lawn tractor or other large engine)
