Learn the very cool "Play Dead" dog trick.

Watch as I teach my Shih-Tzu Macy the "Play Dead" using a food lure and training clicker.

Training sessions took place over a period of about 10 days.

  • that made me laugh trying to get doggy back up lol ... super cute

  • Thanks for your comment - yeah I think she's cute too!

  • if i dont have a clicker, can i say "click"?

  • @Sheina1999 Thanks for your question.

Your could say "click" but it's best to keep the sound unique, distinctive and super fast. If you can't get your hands on a clicker you could use a pen (one that makes a clicking sound).

It's probably best to avoid using your voice as an event marker - which is what a clicker does.

Thanks again, and good luck with your dog.

  • is your dog learning these tricks while your shooting the video or does he/she already know them??

  • Yes Macy is learning as we go.

Keep in mind that I don't put every minute of our training sessions up on Youtube.

It takes us much more than a few minutes to learn a new trick. It will usually take a few weeks worth of short sharp training sessions for Macy to master a new trick/behavior.

  • The clicker is used so when the dog does somthing right it clicks meaning it's done you then treat the dog nd when you try do the trick again your dog will do the trick you taught him/her up too when you clicked it's just so the dog knows when to stop
