A one-minute test of the nuclear warning sirens in HM Naval Base Portsmouth. The ship is HMS Warrior (1860) with the Dockyard to the right and the Spinnaker Tower off to the left. The recording is ruined as it was very windy, but hopefully I'll get a better recording next time and will replace this vid. This'll have to do until then.

  • I think chuck just had some diahorrea

  • @stgm

Just blame his or her wild sense of humour.

  • Do they do that in Florida?

  • @CharIiePresents "If it were to warn people for incoming bombs then they would have one in every major UK city. :)" <- lol would be to late anyway..

  • I think there are a few people on here that have the wrong idea. This is Portsmouth, one of the main naval bases in the UK. This siren would be to warn people if there was a nuclear accident regarding a nuclear powered submarine or ship. If it were to warn people for incoming bombs then they would have one in every major UK city. :)

  • Great video, even with the wind its still easily audible. :D

  • Looks like the bombs hit it already.....looks very dishevelled

  • @NOWAYSKILZZ Amazing how many locals look for this stuff all of a sudden, and at the same time as me! Haha. Maybe we're just a minority? I may even know you if you live that close!

  • They used to sound these sirens off very briefly when the Dockyard finished for lunch and home time for the Dockyard workers. I grew up in Queen Street just outside the Dockyard as a young boy and always hear it day in day out for many many years. Then one day......nothing. Ever again.
