@SchlesserKim just saw your post, thanks, it really does work!

another note.... i think if the "SELECT FOLDER" should read "SELECTED FOLDER" it will clear up a lot of confusion. because i've changed the path to my picture several times and the "SELECT FOLDER" always shows the path i chose. so just think the "SELECT FOLDER" should read SELECTED FOLDER and you choose the folder in "SELECT FOLDER (ROOT PARTITION)

i'm thinking that the "SELECT FOLDER" and "SELECT FOLDER (ROOT PARTITION) are connected and that "SELECT FOLDER" will be empty only showing you "ROOT" with nothing in it. once you put your own folder in (in my case VAR/MOBILE/MY BG PIC) the select folder will show "MY BG PIC". for me going to PRIVATE/VAR/MOBILE did not work but just going to VAR/MOBILE did and my "MY BG PIC" shows up there

@zoopmitty ...cont... that on select folder it'll show the name of the folder you chose from the select folder (root partition) part. that should get you going. hope this helps. for me i didn't have anything in "select folder" part except root and that was empty. but once i went in and changed the select folder (root partition) and chose mu folder i was able to get it working with my own pictures.

@otisecennai i had the same problem. but what i've done is that i've placed my "background folder" in var/mobile directory... and then i went to select folder (root partition) and clicked on VAR and finally MOBILE ** NOTE** on my system i have bunch of other folders in those directory so i had to find the said folders. once i had my background folder hi-lighted press left on your remote. don't go into the folder and try to choose a single picture. once that is done you'll see .. cont...

This guy is so freaking awesome!!! Thanks so much for all the videos!!
In the slideshow settings-select folder-root, no folders appears. Even at the select folder (root partition). I'm sure I created the background folder the same you created. Need help please.

@otisecennai Go into File Zilla or whatever service you are using to view the .ssh files and when you have connected to you apple tv, right click or ctrl click on "root" and where it says, "File Attributes" click on that. Then under Numeric value put 777 and apply to all files. WORKED! FINALLY!
