Stronger - Episode 16 [Karma, Baby] [Marathon: 7/7]

"What?" I am in utter shock. Did Nick just say what I think he just said?
"That's what I've been trying to tell you! But you weren't listening! I love you Demi!"
"Me?"
"No, the news reporter."
"I'll kill her."
"Yes Demi, I love YOU!"
"But why?"
"I don't need a reason to love you. Just accept that I do and that I always will."
I was surprised, confused, happy, and sad all at the same time. All these mixed emotions are hurting my head.
Nick loves me? What the hell is love anyways? No one's ever loved me. Except my mom. And I think Hayley. and Amanda. But Nick?
"I love you too." I say.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." I kissed him softly and rubbed my eye.
"Sleepy?"
"Immensly."
"I'll leave you to sleep." he started to get up, but I gently took his hand.
"Please stay with me." I beg.
"Okay." he sat back down. He put his arm around me and we both lay down, my head on his chest.
"Goodnight, babe." Nick pulled the blanket over us, and we fell asleep.

[The next day]

I woke up and for a second I didn't know where I was. But then I remembered that I was in the hospital. I looked up at Nick, who was playing with my hair.
"Good morning." I smiled.
"Good morning." he said, and kissed my lips.
"I hate this itchy gown," I complained, scratching my shoulder.
"Oh yeah, Aggie brought you some clothes for the week." Nick pointed to the chair in the corner.
"The week?" I exclaim.
"The doctor said you have to stay until your...injuries heal."
"Oh."
"Are you hungry?"
"Just a little."
"If you can, get dressed, and I'll go get you breakfast kay?"
"Alright."
He kissed my forehead and left the room, closing the door behind him.
I got up and picked up some of the clothes from the chair. I put on the dark jeans, the white ankle socks, a yellow tank top. and a black cardigan. I brushed my hair and sat back down on the bed.
"I know it doesn't look good," Nick said when he returned, "but it's all they had." he set the tray infront of me.
I looked over the food with a stink face. "Yum?"
"I know, I know." he sat next to me.
I broke off a piece of the muffin with my good hand. "You changed?" I pointed out.
"Yeah, Joe brought me clothes."
"That was nice of him." I fed Nick the muffin.
"If you say so. He just wants to make me feel better." he fed me a grape.
"About what?"
"The whole rape thing."
"Oh."
"I gotta pee...I'll be right back." he went for the door.
"Happy peeing."
"And a happy non-peeing to you."
I threw a grape at him.
"Hey! Not cool!" he left.
I sat crosslegged facing the door and turned on the tv with my remote. I sit back and eat my breakfast as I watch tv. Someone knocks on the door.
"Come in."
Selena opened the door and came in. "Hi." she said.
"What do you want?"
"I heard you were in the hospital."
"Heard? For all I know you got me here." I ate another grape.
Selena sat on my bed. "Demi--"
"Did you do this?"
"I didn't rape you..."
"Did you plan this?"
"I ju--"
"Did you?"
Selena looks down. "Yes."
"Selena why? I never did anything to you."
"I was so jealous of you! You had Nick, and you were pretty. Well I told you I'm not the kind of person you want to mess with. And I know people. Well I hired my people to punish you like you deserve. No one is better than Selena Marie Russo. Especially not you."
"Listen, Selena Marie Russo. I know I'm not much of a threat, and I'm not your worst nightmare, but bad things are going to happen to you. It's called karma. You had no reason to do this. And I just wish that you could feel what I felt," by now I'm crying, "when they hurt me."
Selena had a look of guilt on her face. She got up and left.
I sat and cried in my hands.
