The war doesn't end because it's not supposed to end. Like the war on drugs which is intentionally self perpetuating through the impoverishment it causes, like failing public education, the government gets what is pays for; if it didn't like the results it would change what it was doing. The ones who have benefitted the most from the war, the only ones, are the people who control our government, which has gained the liberties that the public has lost, and who have profited from war.
