Again, by DEFINITION, marriage is a religious matter and by definition the union of a MAN and a WOMAN, whether the times are changing or not. I'm not religious but if a church wants to recognise me as united with a woman so be it, and if they want to recognise 2 men or 2 women then fine or 10 men and 1 woman or 2 women and 3 men then so be it, but outside of that church and whoever else chooses to recognise the union, it should hold no merit whatsoever. My relationships are my own business.

The fact of the matter is that marriage IS, regardless of whether you like it or not, the union of a man and a woman for the purposes of reproduction. It's fundamentally a religious notion for which there is no justification of government involvement, so why do gays want to be married anyway? I think that government shouldn't be arguing about RECOGNISING homosexual unions. It SHOULDN'T recognise HETEROSEXUAL unions because it's not a governmental matter.

Why do people think that marriage is such a simple matter? I think that someone should be asking the question of why the government is involved in interpersonal relationships to begin with. The strongest reason I can gather is for the sake of the children should the parents separate but even so that's no reason to recognise those people as "Married".
