Errr.... no as in the operating system... you need a 64-bit operating system if you want more than 2 GB of ram...

It doesn't really matter how much ram you put on Vista since it's a horrible operating system. Go for 2 GB though if you can. Also, if you have the money, buy 2 other Hard Drives and go for Raid 0.

@KatideChaos have windows 7 and the ram is 512mb i think plus it come with vista YES with only 512mb of RAM and vista needs 1gb

Ahhh, ok. Yeah... that really sucks. You should build your own computer, it's not really that hard. Just order the parts like the ram and the graphics card and stuff, and you're good to go. I say get either Windows XP or Windows 7 for your operating system (clean install).
