Environ 2.400 passagers de quatre Eurostar ont été bloqués une partie de la nuit de vendredi (18/12/09) à samedi dans le tunnel sous la Manche en raison de pannes liées aux intempéries.
Cinq trains sont tombés en panne et quatre sont restés bloqués à l'intérieur du tunnel, ont précisé la société Eurotunnel, exploitante du tunnel, et le sous-préfet de Calais, Gérard Gavory.
"Des trains ont été victimes de pannes en raison des températures, c'est une situation exceptionnelle", a commenté un responsable d'Eurotunnel. "Plusieurs trains ont été affectés et secourus par des locomotives qui les ont poussés à l'extérieur du tunnel", a-t-il ajouté
La panne des Eurostar serait due à une différence de température entre l'extérieur et l'intérieur du tunnel, un différentiel que n'auraient pas supporté les moteurs des trains.

The Campaign has been informed that Ashkan Zahabian, a member of the Modern Faction of the Islamic Students Association of Ferdowsi University has been severely injured after attacks by members of Basiji Militia and is currently in a coma.
