Ravel intended to write a parody? And you base this assumption on....? I like how you added that you felt it was "quite a witty one," too. You must be very erudite and smart to pick up on the satire. Are you sure you don't mean this piece is a good example of parody compositional technique? The connotations are a little different there, professor.
