Velvet Underground - Black Angel's Death Song

I thought their name was Fell Pit Underground, which makes sense.I once met the lead singer, Loop Feed, a strange man and his frail looking friend Handy Warthole.We talked and laughed the hole night through. It was during this encounter that Loop said to me' people should stop trying to attach intelligence to the music man, it's a song, you like it or you don't'. To which I retorted 'cool, daddio'. It was a lovely night .

Why was there holes in that night? How did it change Loop Feeds behavior? Did he particularly dislike the holes?

Holes was a mis-spelt whole, my mistake and for that I will forever roam this earth in pain. There were holes that night but she wants no publicity. Loop loved the holes and the whole night. Take care my friend for we are fickle and fragile.

The melody is pedestrian, the vocal is mediocre (at best), and the lyric reads like something Dylan threw away.

True - but a depth of knowledge and experience of music informs our opinions.

I've listened to enough music to know this song doesn't compare to the best songs of the same era.

@garethac81 I would say that it doesn't matter how much music you've listened to. It just ends up being an opinion. The beauty of good music is that it defies all the usual criteria for assessment, it's entirely subjective.
