@Nash1a take some sand and pour it into a bucket with a cup of water underneath. Shake the bucket and watch all that water come up to the top. This is why this is no good, most of south of market is built on reclaimed land all the way to china basin.

I heard the Cypress freeway collapse for I lived about a half mile away. The earthquake ended and there was this pure moment of silence then BOOM! It was the loudest sound I ever heard and I didn't know what it was at that moment until later when I saw the news. That is one way I don't want to go and to this day, I hate being under bridges.
