The MBDA MICA (Missile dinterception et de combat aérien, Interception and Aerial Combat Missile) is an anti-air multi-target, all weather, fire-and-forget short and medium-range missile system. It is intended for use both by air platforms as individual missiles as well as ground units and ships, which can be equipped with the rapid fire MICA Vertical Launch System. It is fitted with a thrust vector control (TVC) system.
It was developed from 1982 onward by Matra. The first trials occurred in 1991, and the missile was commissioned in 1996 to equip the Rafale and Mirage 2000. It is a replacement for both Super 530 (interception) and Magic II (dogfight). Two can be fired in a two-second interval.
The first fox3 aam in europe, and the best challenger for the amraam (Bcuz russian's R-77 has poor electronics) . France's the most skilled contry for aerospace industry in europe: we master in electronics and detection, aerodynamics, and propulsion since the 70's. And some other nations have tought time to admit

A missile is a missile i suppose.
I'd just feel safer firing something with a forty pound warhead, lol.

with 12 kg focused splinters HE warhead anything that flies should be scared, moreover its not the weight that maters but the type of the explosive used and where it will hit ;)

It's cool but i find it's warhead a bit on the light side.
It wont do any serious damage to a large bomber or transport.
