  • i would just like to say.... i would much rather go to the poor people living on the streets and give them money, instead of to a charity, because over half the money i donate to a charity goes to pay for the office and the workers..... so if you read this, i beg you not to donate to charities, because you money doesn't go to the people in need of help, but to the people supposedly helping.... just take Haiti for example....

  • Well done.

It's really a shame so many of our brothers & sisters around the world are suffering on so many levels. This AM the appeal was on TV for $ for those who

need help in Pakistan after the flooding. I'm sure $ will flow there from the USA. We all should do what we can to help each other, however, there are an awful lot of people right here in America who are suffering, lost jobs & homes & they are hungry. I just don't get it...it makes me so sad.

    Help each other...Poverty sucks!

  • @thecolaratlady Eek! Generators are good. We used one through a terrible storm once! We were the only family with one so everyone came to use our elec!

  • @LittleNerd LoL yeah, big threat here is wildfires ( we live in the city so really no threat of that) and blizzards. we unfortunelty live in an all electric apt. i need get a generator incase we ever do lose power or we will end up at a shelter if shelters wont accept our "kids", I guess we would just stay in the car

  • @thecolaratlady At least some helps though, better than none I suppose! But I see what you mean. Don't worry I donate to SA too! My grandad and great gd too :) I hope Colorado is less eventful for you!

  • @LittleNerd and ty for the lovely words. we have been in Colorado since about 3 weeks after katrina hit.

  • @LittleNerd yup sweetie : )

  • @LittleNerd Ok sweetie, i'm just telling you what we went through, as did thousands of other katrina victims.plus what grandparents dealt with during ww2.My 87 yr old grandfather was in the navy during ww2.he was only 16 when he enlisted, lied about his age like alot of ppl did.Plus, for every dollar they receive in donations..only 10 cents goes to actual helping ppl. the rest are "their costs" Salvation Army however who is faith based, way more then 10 cents goes to actual help.

  • @thecolaratlady I've honestly not heard anything about that but I'll be on the lookout. British Red Cross actually takes action *against* fraudulent people. Maybe it's different over here :| So sorry to hear about your home :-(

  • @LittleNerd Please dont, they are an IMMENSE FRAUD.They received BILLIONS of dollars in donations after Katrina,You know how much help we received after losing our home, car, contents? ZERO! They are a profit making corp POSING as a charity. back during ww2,salvation army and redcross had stands set up for ppl to get coffee, donuts, other things, salavation army gave it to them for FREE b/c it was donated to them.Red Cross CHARGED for DONATED items. And that's Biblical Truth.

  • @thecolaratlady I didn't know I'd omitted them, I donate to them regularly! Fraudulent? :|

  • @thecolaratlady The original Hollies version? Cool :-)
