I Had the good fortune of meeting Barry at the first GP ever to be held in Australia at Philip Island in 1989. He had retired from racing of course and was a commentator with Channel Nine. He didn't know me from a bar of soap. But that didn't stop him talking to me for the best part of half an hour. Top Bloke! Brilliant Rider! I still miss him to this day when I watch a race without his commentary. RIP Barry.
Barry autographed my competition road racing licence in 1978 at Brands Hatch in the pits wishing me good luck. ( i was just a teen)
Still got it as he was / is my hero when it comes to racing and a nice guy
RIP
