The 2 gentlemen playing here represent the 2 most interesting styles of capoeira on the map in my opinion. This is 100 percent pure distilled super concentrated capoeira. These 2 individuals dramatically shaped the view of Capoeira in the US.

i dont agree with the "out of the element" comment. M Marcelo was getting his 3rd degree mestre belt, and had to play not only different mestres but adapt to the different styles (like true capoeira). true his not an angoleiro but he is not regional. he learned angola from m. gato preto and thats how he learned to play angola. angola is different from mestre to mestre. if you want to see m. marcelo playing "small" and "tight" try: Mestre Marcelo Caveirinha and Mestre Espirro Mirim 6.

Yep. He's contemporanea. Most players fall under the contemporanea category nowadays. Regional is only regional if it follows Bimba's principles very closely. Marcelo is from Cordao de Ouro, which is definitely a contemporanea school.
