I was born in Farmington New mexico, but now im stationed in Fort Bragg North Carolina. But when i was a kid me and my dad was fixing the backyard to put a pool in and we need the ground straight, and while we was doing it my dad told me to back up and i did, but i felt the worst pain in my ankle and i saw it. I freaked out and stepped on it over and over. I started to taste potatoes :l.

@915Alcapone915 I DON'T THINK SO, BECAUSE I'VE SEEN SMALLER ONE AFTER THIS ONE.

They're called Jerusalem crickets, they're not the type to hang out in packs, however they are commonly found when prepping the ground for planting. So if you have a garden that may be a case as well. They arn't poisonous, but they do hurt when they bite and they emit a foul smell like a stink bug. The other ones may have started showing up to mate or something. Not sure how many you found but it's a possibility, as it's getting around spring time.

@Darriok they have a lot of other names too... child of the earth, potato bug, jerusalem cricket... at least people in Texas say child of the earth anyway. Either way I think they're cute... ;u;
