i'm 16 and just found the sweet lp's of my mother yesterday including strung up. such a great lp! why is the most music of today just crap?
-
Because... '' stars'' of today write and play what the people with the money TELL them to.
Bands of today ... are put together artificially by the people with the money - to make even more money!
Teenage girls (mostly) are told to like these bands by the glossy magazines they read - (herd mentality).
And if the ''stars'' try and break away, they get ... erm....well - I'll just tell you to go check out the Michael Jackson conspiracy here on youtube.
Glad you found & Enjoy Sweet :)

I grew up listening to the single version, and I enjoyed it immensely. To me, both versions are equally awesome!

THnxs for the awesome upload.. i realy enjoy it \o/

This was the first version, recorded for the album, then Sweet recorded the single-version to come over not so hard for the charts. ;)

WOW excellent!

This is the flip side of SWEET the early intro to glam rock. David Bowie space oddity hitting Detroit shortly after this, but us young high school, suburburan, innocent kids enjoyed the high energy jams. Rock on SWEET!!

Single version is cool. This beats the fucking shit out of it. Like a giant spike-n-leather wristbanded bully beating the fucking ever-lovin shit out of a tiny horn-rimmed nerd.

Pretty Cool. Was this the UK hit version?

No. Believe it or not we (in the UK) had the same 'pop' version as everyone else. The original version was only on the album Desolation Boulevard and only available on that album, here in the UK, at that time.
Don't know why!

Sounds like a different song from a different group! Anyone know why they opted to release the one we know of today, which was way more electronic pop and less rock? Each version has its virtues--they really both should have been on the album so people could choose which they liked better.

As far as I know - Sweet re-recorded Fox because RCA wanted a quick record to put out. They had to make it more palatable to fit in with then, mainstream pop taste. I don't believe Sweet ever considered releasing it as a single, as Chinn & Chapman always wrote ALL their songs... up until the release of Fox that is ;)
Not sure why the US only got the 2nd version - maybe they (the producers etc) thought it would 'go down' better than the rock version.
