In September 1944, flush with success after the Normandy invasion, the Allies confidently launched Operation Market Garden, a wild scheme intended to put an early end to the War by invading Germany and smashing the Riech's war plants. However a combination of battlefield politics, faulty intelligence, bad luck and worse weather led to disaster.

  • @wasistdaswasdasist Whether it's depicted in a Hollywood manner in this movie or not, fact is Frost's men on the bridge did blow up that ammo dump which set the reasonably fresh paint of the bridge on fire... and the next day they really stopped that German armoured column with their light arms. I have an aerial reconnaissance photo of that shot up column on the deck of the Arnhem bridge in a book about Market Garden to prove it - a rather messy and charred heep of mangled German steel!

  • What a damn mess.

  • @jorcastify i think the bigger fail is 6:27. Where is that German car going LOL

  • 6:13 scream you SS bastard

  • @provocase

There were also 2 AT guns that the British had in the bridge perimeter that helped destroy that column attack too..... the movie doesn't show them. See my channel clip about the battle

  • @september7891

Not really..... it's actually the neonazis who try to insinuate that all Germans in WW2 were Nazis. It shows how brainwashed and stupid neonazis are; the fact is only 10% of Germans at most were actual Nazi Party members....... and the Nazis killed or persecuted hundreds of thousands of Germans who were deemed 'anti-Nazis in WW2.

This movie did show silly prejudice in making the British look like having fun at the beach until things got bad.

  • Yes for shure. And the german tank commander stands like a tree in the tank while the englands shot... stupid germans thats all

  • @seralia1 that attack actually happened. German armored troops DID attempt a crossing of the bridge, and were successfully repulsed. look at any aerial photos of the bridge during the battle: COVERED in trashed German APC's and trucks.

  • @PanakaStigLitz loads of them were shot before they hit the ground why these films allways try to make the germans look stupid?and have you noticed these days we never say the germans its allways the nazis

  • did you see at 6:12 the guy been thrown out of the car epic fail

  • This is one of the stupids attacks from the german troops i haver ever seen in a movie... Hollywood seems to think all german soldiers were idiots in WWII!

  • @cherielsl

They ran into a well timed ambush by the variety of Airborne units - most of the vehicles were actually destroyed once they got past the bridge..... they were following 4 of their vehicles that actually went across without being fired upon - in the real battle.
