This song was sung by Porky Pig at the beginning of 1951's "Drip-Along Daffy". Many sites credit this song to Michael Maltese, a writer at Termite Terrace. As far as I know, this song was never published so there's no way for me to check that, but it makes sense that Maltese would have written it.

I've made an album of songs from Warner Brothers cartoons - with a full band - called "Songs the Brothers Warner Taught Me". You can stream it or buy it at http://www.meganlynch.net

  • I wish the camera was a little lower so I could see the chords, but the singing was pretty good.

Singing the song straight was the right take for this.

  • BRAVO!

I had just posted my own, unfortunate, take on this song and your video came up as a recommendation. I must say that I like yours better!

  • @BOK602 Thanks! You have a neat process for filming yours, though. I can see why after three takes the color would have drained from your face!

  • The great strength of Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies is that they're layered and have something for all ages to enjoy. What a great thing to share with your son!

  • @meganlynchify Thanks. I'll have to dig out my ukulele chord chart.

  • @TheOriginal3P Probably a couple accompanists. :)

  • When I sing this to my 3yo son, I sing it in the style of porky. He loves it :)

  • @lberelson I'd also be able to take the kind of punishment Porky does without ever needing to go to the hospital...everything just seems to be able to heal in 3 seconds. Would do wonders to keep down medical expenses!

  • So cute. Now if you can make your head suspend animation as you bounce up and down like porky pig, it would be a sure hit!!
