See www.thisplacemovie.com. Trailer for documentary This Place, featuring three families that lost young people - two in traffic accidents, one a victim of dating violence. David's parents discuss the traumatic impact on family and community; their son's death 10 years ago seems very current. Jennifer's mother and best friend maintain a garden at the site where Jennifer's body was found after her boyfriend shot and killed her. The film intersperses interview commentary with footage of them tending the garden. Lastly, the film follows Mary, Andrea's mother, as she builds a cross in her back yard and erects it at the site of the car accident that killed Andrea and Nelson (husband of Mary and father of Andrea). The film is tied together with a beautiful original score composed by Graham Reynolds for the double bass; which, through some unexpected connections becomes something of a character in the film.
