  • Congratulations to the 4,500 or so that made it all the way to the end!

  • Love this album. I've wondered for years... What are the lyrics? When I tried to play the album backwards to try and decode it, it screwed up my needle. Other than that, This is MY kind of music. Total instrumental with a LOT of heart and soul poured into it.

  • that has to be the most rewarding ending to a song ever

  • I have the vinyl record. Played it to death in the 70s when it came out. Haven't heard this in years. Loved both sides of the record. I can't imagine that my record is even playable - I've worn the grooves right out!

  • Such a great recording and it doesn't contain the complete Sailor's Hornpipe.

Where did this recording come from originally? Was it vinyl or a CD?

  • @Dyslexica Are you referring to the Caveman lyrics? No backwards meaning, but here is my interpretation. Flua Wach Dach Wa No Wow. Fluo Wach Dach Wadow. Repeat. lol

  • awesome hornpipe...

  • The ending is quite amazing, who could not like that !!!

  • Mike Oldfield goes to Kentucky Fried Chicken at 7:25.

  • I love the ending!

  • try GONG and ELOY and FLOYD and YES, and...damn...all of them. be true to the energy of Oneness.

  • expand yourself through mY chaNNel. i only wish to share the musical complexities and true spirituality they impose!

  • @ForeverYoung58 a scared soul whose inner voice hasnt developed a craving for true prog! he was either too afraid, or hasnt come to understand, the idea of pure inner spirituality through complex musics.

  • Who is the cretin that "disliked" this? Tubular Bells is a masterpiece.

  • Brilliant work. Just bloody Brilliant!!!!!

  • It's not hard to detect the lonely, torment of Mike when he wrote this. It sounds very stark and lost at times. A very primal scream, but unlike other music emanating from tortured souls, this is very beautiful and uplifting. The ability to turn pain into beauty is a great gift.

  • @fraroc and those grunts sound far better than most growls out there, LOL!

OK, so if this is the last part, I can say my opinion now, I believe, even before it ends.

When this record kinda "flatlines" it's still pretty good.

When it's at its best, it's FREAKING AMAZING. Basically, you can't go wrong with this.

  • @Dyslexica The only vocal part is some death metal grunts around 00:30 the rest is instrumental genius!

  • I love the seemingly random "Sailor's Hornpipe."

  • lol
