Ha ha, love the cocksuckers who just don't get it, who will never ever get this kind of music.

john dieterich is the best

Besides the drumming, this sucks.
-
does anyone know how he makes his guitar sound like that at around 2:53 ?

Greg Saunier is one of the few drummers of this generation in rock that I can truly say is an inspiration. His explosive nature, the way he throws his weight and puts his all into the music, his ability to play a dressed down set and turn it into something dynamic and versatile. Not only that, but he boasts an amazing background (he studied at oberlin) and the ability to compose and understand the nuances of music. the only thing he really lacks is any apparent controversy.

They do so much with so little.

the trumpet scatters its awful sound
over the graves of all lands
death and mankind shall be stunned
when nature arises to give account before the judge
this was the song that got me listening to deerhoof
1:27 SLAM lol

These guys freaking ROCK live. It's unreal how much noise a trio centered around a tiny Japanese lady can make.

I didn't know Deerhoof had seven drummers. I always thought their music sounded like someone defenestrated some old Loony Tunes footage. Rad.

dunno if i've been engrossed in mainstream music too much or underexposed to raw music like this but i feel like i just experienced something unworldly lol, mad props.

i never read a comment about john dieterich here. he is an AMAZING guitarist. and even though saunier is more visually impressive, its about the combination of his drumming with the spastic, jerky guitars. i love his stiff, jagged, style, as if he's containing all that energy. they compliment each other.
