@bluegrasssingingman You're right, I would never rank one above the other. But early in his career, Tony tried to play like Clarence. He finally realized that he could never sound like Clarence, but out of that he developed his sound. I've heard Tony tell just that story. Also consider that Clarence was cheated out of decades of life and playing, who knows how far he would've taken his craft. But no, I'm not saying Clarence was better.

@waynerjson You're crazy saying that shit about Tony Rice. Clarence White was a very good picker, but far from being as good as Tony Rice.

You're the most authentic player of the Clarence White style I've ever heard, but you put your own twist on it. Consider this: Tony Rice tried for years to play like Clarence, but coudn't , but you have nailed it.
