  • wow he's playing a basix kit...

  • I have the Pat Metheny Group album from 1978 and it's one of my favorite albums ever! Gottleib has improved a lot since then and is definitely one of the best jazz drummers around. Even in 1978 he was playing "Lone Jack" which is outrageously fast.

  • @sheldonknowsall Interestingly enough, I came to this video after listening to the same 1978 record and digging his playing on San Lorenzo.

  • Super super smooth.....

Lovely and I love the purple drumsticks!

  • The man has Joe Morello written all over him which I know he will take as a compliment!

  • Mr, Gottlieb used to surround himself with TONS of cymbals!

Nice to see he doesn't need them anymore

  • "One hour" at PAS in 1983?

We, in Alaska, had him for much longer than *that*......

  • I saw him do a one-hour clinic in 1983 at PAS and learned things that still influence me today. Great guy and wonderful musician.

  • @tubzinblu I believe that is Corey Christenson. Not sure about the exact spelling. He's using a Buscarino Corey Christenson Model archtop.

Check out the Buscarino website ~

  • Phenominal
