Famous Sergei Rachmaninoff Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op. 3 No.2, from the "Morceaux de Fantaisie" suite. Played be me - it was an overkill for my technique at this point, which can be easily heard in chordal section towards the end. I had much fun playing it though.

  • That's quite odd, yours is the exact same length as mine, I love the beginning of yours and the agitato, much more precise than my own. I prefer the last section a little faster but it is so hard to record it well, I have plenty of mistakes there.

  • Thanks. I agree with the remark about the last section - I like it faster too. It was beyond my ability to record it faster at that time though.

  • and waaaaay to fast.......

  • If you ever find the double cd 'Préludes' played by Dimitri Alexeev then you'll hear the best played Rachmaninov ever!

  • I wish I could play like you :)

  • This is so much better than any version I've found on Youtube so far. I'm probably not proficient enough to compare its technicality but the interpretation is by far my favourite! It'd be great if you had an mp3 link for this =)

  • This is so far my favorite piano pieces. I heard this on Sirus Pops and luckily this woke me up so I could write down the title and the composer. But, this piece gave me chills and I instantly fell inlove with it. :)
