  • For the umpteenth time : The melodic line comes from old arabic/mediterranean-region folk songs with lament themes. The Greek rebet Roubanis used the line in the eponymous bouzouki instrumental, which he named Misirlou, after "a girl from Egypt", literally from Misr (Egypt in Arabic). Dick Dale, of some Lebanese ancestry himself, knew the melody from childhood and made it justly famous as a surf instrumental. It's a great tune and it belongs to no one and everyone .

  • So muxh better than the Black Eyed Peas version :D

  • I'd Rather eat Trash than black eyed peas !

  • @wernvilla2 *Facepalm*

  • these guys were HIGHLY under-rated..!

  • This version is musically incorrect with respect to the actual Arabic Miserlou, which is sung slowly, the guitarist gets some of the song entirely wrong. The most accurate rendering is the Astronauts version, while Dick Dale is just doing a cover of it, his versions are too soft.

  • Grrrrrrrr . . . ((^.~)) . . . rrrrrrrrrG

  • @hyperfangz The only thing wrong with the sax is that it's too cool for some people.
