what good old memories brings back this tune....!
-
I have this on old 7 inch
-
The title came from a line in the 1973 Genesis song "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" ("Paper late, cried a voice in the crowd")
-
Seems that "Paperlate" ranks with "Sussudio" as a lyric that doesn't mean anything beyond fitting in with the music in an interesting way. Phil Collins is funny like that.

Paper Plate...

It doesnt get the props it diserves because of the collins-horns ill bet...

@Thunder029 That's funny, because I recall hearing in 1982 just after "Lonely Man On The Corner" and I figured it was off of Abracab.

This song never got the props it deserves and its a bitch to find anywhere... its not really on any albums except the "best of"... great tune. I don't know why more people don't go nuts for it.

@needtolooselots crud, now I'm going to sing it this way in my head now, lmao. To me, the paperlate "might" refer to a letter that was anticipated, but failed to arrive in a timely fashion....but I don't really know,
paper plate, paper plate, omg, help me.
Sweet upload tricheco96, peace ;.)
