Wii System Update 4 0!! A Look at the New SD & SDHC Card Support

A look at the new Wii System Update 4.0, which finally lets Wii Users play their Virtual Console titles direct from the SD Card. WiiWare titles as well as Wii Channels can also be accessed direct from the SD card, as demonstrated in this video. This update now enables users to use SDHC Cards too. SD Cards go up to 2GB in size. I think the biggest SDHC card is at 32GB!! So this seems like a good storage solution. You can pick up an 8GB SDHC card for €14.99 on play.com!

Heyyyy can anybody help me at all i have 2 vc games i put them on my sd card but they wont allow me to transfer to another wii not only that certain games cant download on my card to transfer now i heard some games data cant be transferd but what i want to know is why cant they be? i have ssbb and it took me forever to get were i am now and thats one of the games can someone anybody explain this to me?

Games with Wifi connection cannon have their save files transfered or copied, I don't really understand why it is the way it is, but it just is unfortunately =(

Also VC/WiiWare games cannot be copied to another Wii as the games are linked to your club nintendo account and are copyrighted, even if you have more than 1 Wii in your home =(

I was kind of wondering the same thing...like could you go to a friends and copy their VC games on your SD card and play the games the purchased for free??

Hey man, No I dont think it works that way. I'm pretty sure the big delay on using the SD Card function for running VC/WiiWare games was to properly implement a locking system on VC/WiiWare purchases so that they are locked to the Wii they were bought on. In saying this.... I hav'nt tried copying my mates VC/WiiWare games and bringing em home to my Wii to see if they work so feel free to try and get back to me :D
