Mechanical engineering students at the University of New Haven designed and built a working model of a gamma Stirling engine as part of their senior design project course. The design uses a 4.0000 x 1.8125 inch displacer with a 1.280 inch diameter power piston. It is heated by a propane flame, and it is water cooled using copper tubing wound around the displacer outer cylinder. Pressure and crank angle converted to volume were obtained in real-time; the pressure vs volume during the cycle is shown in the video. The group consisted of students T. DiMeo, B. Donnelly, N. MacDonald, J. Pietrantuono, O. Ramirez, and D. Whalen with project advisor Dr. S. Ross
