Hal enjoyed the sounds of the bells on the Swiss cows. He got to walk with them and take close up photos. Every cow in Switzerland wears a bell so they can be found in the mountains. These are the fighting cows of the area where we stayed. Apparently there's some "glitch" in their genes...like normal cows, they'll fight until one is pushed away. The fights aren't violent, just like anything you'd see in the field. However, if a cow isn't in calf...she won't give up. She'll fight and keep going. So, it's important that all the cows are in calf before they're sent to the community pastures for the summer. When the pecking order is set, they are calm like any others...................
