miami sunset balloon race april 19. here you can see how remax balloon went down into the tree. 5 mins later another balloon went down in the same exact location lol. sucks

Oh yeah, too bad all movement axes of his aircraft and airspeed on touchdown

were NOT under anyone's control. Being dragged screeching at ambient airspeed

through a forest with a huge load of propane and valves, weak tubing, etc. is NOT my

I was in a hot air balloon once-- it was the most terrifying experience ever. I can't recommend it to anyone. You're just... helpless. Even the pilot was scared. We "landed" and the basket tipped over. Me and the pilot fell out, and had it not been for the ground crew and a 15 year old kid my daughter would have shot up into the air solo.

The "sport" should be banned.

In fact, this was a very, very good landing for a medium wind speed. The wind speed was not "fast" in my book as I've landed in higher winds than we see here. Why was it so good? Watch the angle, or gradient ("glideslope" for you IFR guys!) that this Remax pilot obtains before contacting the ground. We can't see the touchdown, but he had a very gentle "angle" of approach and did an excellent job of keeping it. This invariable lead to the best windy touchdown one can have.
