It's a film about transforming cars, if the cars weren't branded people would complain it's unrealistic - as unrealistic as transforming cars gets but you se my point.

I agree with Michael Bay's quote... but the application is what I hate. When they show the brand names in such a way that it is obvious that they are wanting the brand name to be the focus of that scene, that is what really bothers me.
