4 extra megapixels are worthless, the Nikon D40 has a resolution of 3008x2000 and the D60 has 3872x2592. The D40 has a flash sync of 1\500 vs 1\250 on the D60. Also with the pixels less densely packed on the sensor it has better low light performance. Also the D40 does matrix meter with AF lenses, so long as they have a CPU in them.

Nice video and helpful QUESTION: with the 200mm lens can't you use extension tube such as 1.5x or 2.x and really extend focal length?

I currently shoot with a 35mm SLR from canon ( rebel X), and i completley agree i use autofocus most of the time cause my mom thinks i need to speed up the composition time of my photo. Anyway, great review i'm looking to start shooting digitally now after months of shooting 35mm point and shoot and Slr photography. Ur AWESOME PHOTO TEEN! :~)
