This was a little personal exercise in video editing, and the results turned out a helluva lot better than I expected, especially in the sound to visual sychronizing. The shots of the "flight controls" you see are a large controller from the Xbox Game Steel Battalion, and a Saitek X52 Flight Stick. The first CG footage you see are graphics taken from the same Xbox game. The Viper you see in the launch tube with its thrusters firing up is a Joyride miniature (sadly no longer in production). This also contains footage from the original Battlestar Galactica series, whilst using music from the new show. I hope you enjoy this. And don't worry, I do plan on getting back to my usual VFX hobby work very soon. This video is about two or three years old. Battlestar Galactica and all its references are the property of Universal Studios. This is a "labor of love" fan-work, with no claims to any ownership of this franchise.
Most kind, thank you. :)

Sweetheart; if a single viper launch was actually that long and that complicated the GALACTICA would be blown out of the sky before the first viper left its tube.
