I think what's so endearing about Ace is this :

He was real about what Kiss was - a circus act that played elementary rock music. He was never under any illusion that he was the proverbial Jimmy Page and his bandmates Robert Plant etc ...

He had a fantastic sense of humor . That kind of guy is easy to be around because he's the guy who is keeping it real and keeping it real fun . The two sheisters just didn't get that
