@jcotter1888 As I said b4 if the queen is on your money and most of your governance comes from London (the devolved government is "allowed" by London) and is dominated by the English it doesn't matter if they have seen fit to give your union a different name. The Irish (republic) are not English they achieved their freedom ask any Irish freedom fighter (or William Wallace) if being part of the united kingdom and being ruled by the British parliament meant they were not being ruled by the English

Also if you consider anyone in Britain as "English" then it only serves to point out your arrogance and ignorance. As previoulsy stated no one swears oaths to anyone unless it is done through a concious free decleration. The Queen serves no better purpose than Big Ben or the Eiffel tower. Simply a tourist attraction. Oh how far they have fallen. Oh and technically the British Royal family are a mix of German and Dutch ancestry.

(cont) People of Britain who hold passports have their nationality as British, not English or Welsh or Scottish, but British. I have no qualms about calling myself British. However, it is just fact that I am not English or Welsh. There maybe some arguement that I am not even Scottish as my passport does not say "Scotland" on it. "The United Kingdom parliament" not the English parliament?

Are Australians English? Are Canadians English? They have money with the Queen on it.

English is a nationality as is Welsh, Irish and Scottish. In order to be classes under one of these nationalities certain criteria must be met. As I was born in Scotland to Scottish parents who also had Scottish parents I would be considered "Scottish" However, place of birth can sometimes have no relevance in deciding nationality. I have never stated that Scotland is independent. If Scotland was to become independent it would do so from Britain not England. (cont)
