  • I think Beethoven definitely took this trick from Haydn for his 5th symphony: the menacing beginning in low notes in minor, followed by quick scale runs by the higher violins. It works like a charm and it's very stylish :). Thanks once again to Haydn!

  • 現在日本語で検索出来る最高の演奏、録音 です。何度聴いてもしびれます。

    仏の画家モディリアニのソラリゼーション処理は何か関係があるのでしょうか?

  • the first movement is in E minor, yes, as is the finale and the minuet. However, the trio and the entire third movement are in E major, so it is likely that someone simply referred to the entire symphony as being in "E" thus confusing our BENEFACTOR who posted this. Thanks for posting this, by the way. It's a beautiful piece.

  • This symphony isn't in E major, it's in e minor...

    but nevertheless, a great video!

  • Who knew there were so many blue people around?

  • Excelent!!!

  • ハイドンの「シュトルム・ウント・ドランク時代」の、整然としていて表情豊かな古典美に溢れた素晴らしい作品の一つ。

    特にこの第1楽章のモチーフの展開は強く印象に残る。

  • I only wish I could hear them bag pipes better in the 3rd movement. I think my speakers are shot. P.s. I'm totally diggin' the new youtube stats of some of the videos that are given on the drop down next to the number of play-count.

  • Just a little correction: This symphony is not in E Major, but in E Minor (very minor, in fact). Thank you for uploading it.
