Air Crash Investigation MayDay A Wounded Bird Part 2 out of 5. On 21 August 1995, the left-side engine on Atlantic Southeast Airlines Regional/Commuter Flight 529 partly tore itself from its mounting creating drag which caused the aircraft to fall out of the sky killing nine people. A propeller, damaged by metal fatigue, caused the engine to be partly torn from its mounting, leaking fuel-also creating a fire hazard with smoke. The plane was, at a descend rate too fast to reach an airport, forced to crash land in an empty field.

it wouldn't be good to have a panicking pilot in the cockpit lol especially in an emergency

I know someone who was on this flight ... actually I know her husband much better, I grew up across the street from him and went to HS with him.  She suffered serious burns but survived.
