I was doing 10 to 15 mph in my series 3 landrover, two days after Christchurch had 4 inches of snow. I was picking up a snowbound workmate and had this little twist.
FYI I was in 4WD high box, and there were a pair of ladder chains on the front wheels. The back wheels had no chains. Tyre pressures were road normal.
I think the chains is what make it go wrong - they bit the snow in the middle of the road and slowed down, whereas the back just came around on the left.
This is where it happened:

on a land rover im sure if you only puttin i set of axle chains on its to the back for that reason as all the power will go there ??? could be wrong !!!

@brockus217 Yes and No. Series are part-time 4WD but I had it in high-box 4WD so drive was going everywhere.
I thought about chains on the back, but the assistance for steering was important too.
Ideally I'd have four chains, but only own a pair.
