I saw an ad on TV for this product and decided to try it on a friend's vehicle. To my surprise (or maybe not), it DID NOT do ANYTHING it said it could do.

This item is supposed to remove embedded pet hair from upholstery and as you can see in the video, it didn't even do anything close to what it claims!

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP!

  • Karl, Karl, Karl - you are using it on "carpet" - and not even good carpet at that! - everyone knows that you can't get ANYTHING off of that stuff - christmas tree needles, pet hair, or human hair - the "carpet" that is in the back hatches and trunks of cars is notorious for that. HOWEVER, if you use this on upholstry in your home - it works PERFECTLY! - Hey, Thanks for the laugh - better read the lables and use common sense next time.

  • "everyone knows that you can't get ANYTHING off of that stuff" - apparently not the customer service representative at 3m that I spoke with about the product. They assured me up, down, left and right that this was THE product that could do anything. As far as using it on anything else...a DAMP RAG WORKS BETTER! LOL!!! I love it that people support expensive crap like this that is made to be a "better way" to do something. LOL, but thanks for the comment - I appreciate it.

  • its not a stupid idiot pad, its a stupid idiot user. maybe you should try the one made for car interiors? you know, the one with a picture of A DOG IN A CAR on the front? look at the picture on the box you have, it shows a person using it on a couch ... stupid idiot user.

  • LOL! When this video was made, there was only ONE type of "Fur Fighter" available. They claimed it was the best thing in the world and it took someone like me to call them on it. Now they have another "version" available. hmmmmm???

  • you know they make a seperate one for cars...

  • If they do its probably because this one didn't work for cars even though they said it did. Regardless, those cheap masking tape lint rollers do a better job removing pet hair from ANYTHING, so this crap is still a waste.

  • Hey Karl! Nice blog going over on karlskards :) i really enjoyed the ebay pieces!

I wanted to say YIKES! I am so flabbergasted by the response you had with the fur fighter. I saw unbelievable results with the product. I was the hand model in the spot and could not get over how easy it was to use during filming...i took one home and tried it out at my mom's who's chairs are covered in cat hair and found it to work GREAT. I wonder if it is the diff in fabrics?? ..hmmm...

  • this works like a charm - your vid is wrong

  • It works great ....best product for picking up hair that I have ever used .It even picks up pet dander......way to go 3M. I am afraid Karl doesn't know what he is talking about.

  • they have a different one for cars...when u called they probably thought you were talking about that one

  • Is that carpet your using it on. You should use it on upholstery only.

  • I love mine, but I use it on Polartec and it works better than duct tape!

(it's reusable even though they say it's disposable, the fur lifts right off to reuse)

I didn't try it on my car--but does anything really work well there?

  • Thanks Karl. You saved me some money and some disappointment.

  • that is why they have the one for vehicles.... and then the one for your home.....

  • Well, in all honesty, you should have tried more than one surface.

To me "Use it in your car" means the fabric of the seats. Perhaps you didn't specify you wanted it for a rug. Rugs generally need vacuum cleaners.

  • I dont think this is a fair comparison. Most people have issues with their furniture. Now that I see you used it on car carpeting, I cannot say this video compels me not to give it a try. I wish you would have used a more traditional use, like living room furniture.

  • I couldn't disagree with you more. I've had such fabulous luck with this with cat fur on furniture - where cat fur has been stuck forever. People: if you have cats or dogs TRY THIS!
