No Headstone on my Grave ,Wow! Always loved Charlie & keep on appreciating him in a deeper way as time goes by. What a talent.Talk about shy most people don't realize just how painful it was for him to perform in front of a live audience.
Glad you made it home Charlie,I understand what you meant when you sang feel like go-n home.
A Charlie Rich staple, he wrote and recorded it 3 times, this 1st one from Sun/Phillips International on 1962. Excellent quality, a lot of feeling, and he was singing the blues (also the genre), as it was one of his favorites! Sam Phillips, who produced Elvis Presley's earliest material, called this his favorite song to produce. That has to say SOMETHING! R.I.P. 12/14/32-7/25/95
Supposedly, when he first heard this song, Sam Phillips said that it was such a great sing, he could record it himself and it would be a hit. Well, he never recorded it other than this which is obviously a demo. Outside of Jerry Lee Lewis no one has made a hit out of it. A shame since it is a great piece.
