@mars1952 I use a CO2/Argon mix too. Makes a nice crisp arc!

@jrweissdro @jrweissdro The rectangular block was from a piece of scrap steel plate that was left over from a large sheet that had been plasma cut. You could use DOM tubing the same size as the cross tubing on the cylinder or solid bar stock. I would think that any tubing with at least a 1/4" wall would be Okay and 1/4" thick stuff is easy to weld.

Guess I should have been more specific. Was it a solid piece or rectangular tube? It is hard to tell from the video. If tube, what wall thickness would you recommend? Thanks again.

@jrweissdro I used a scrap of steel that I had laying around. It doesn't have to be anything special just mild steel.

Hi. Just ordered new cylinders, lift and tilt, for my fel. I may need to do some of the mods to move the welded end on the base of the cylinder. What did you use for the spacer block? Thanks.
You do nice work... I'm sorry to hear someone has stolen your tractor... Have you recovered it?

@45von Thanks...The tractor has not been recovered. The insurance agent says that much of what is stolen around here is take to unscrupulous scrap yards and crushed.

Nice job! What type of welding process did you use to weld the cylinder. I still cant believe that cylinder broke just from pulling a vine!

@spinesales I just used general purpose wire and CO2/Argon mix. I am pretty much a hack welder. If it sticks I'm happy. So far everything is holding together and I have used it pretty hard.
