I did go to Alaska to see his "cute little Eskimo" and it turns out she's not even Eskimo, she's Aleutian, and she thinks maybe Ricky would have remembered that if he hadn't passed out on her couch after crying into his merlot for three hours the one time they met, in 1953. "I'm not 'his' little Eskimo, nor an Eskimo of any kind," she told me. "I'm sure he has 'made a lot of stops all over the world,' but you can be pretty goddam sure most of those stops were gay bars."
