YES, in the 70's, owned the planet. Their music was transcendent, like the voice of God. The only band that could touch them during that period was Zeppelin. I saw YES in 1978 at the Long Beach Arena. I was just a kid and will never forget it. I have seen them many times since but I will never go see them without Jon Anderson. No Jon, no YES. End of story. The last great YES album was ten years ago: Magnification, 2001. Jon sounds amazing, as does the rest of the band. Long live YES...and Jon.
@dmudd123 I didn't miss Jon & Rick saw their show on a cold, wet & windy night at the Sage Gateshead. The spirit of Yes was alive and well. I've followed Yes through all the many changes, and there is always two sides to every story' but for me Yes without either Jon or Chris is only a Tribute band. I also have concerns about David's voice i.e. he seems to strugle with high notes and it sounds like trying to put on an english accent and sounds to english, but to be fair I haven't heard him Live.
@TardisType30 Benoit David is in the band...for like almost 3 years now! I understand your feelings, but for me personally: Having seen the show the other night, I really don't miss Jon or Rick that much.
Yes is moving on...with a new album that the Classic line-up just couldn't get it together long enough to do.
Maybe a farewell tour for Classic Yes in the future is in the works, but overall the crowds are enjoying the shows.
Rabin did great on "90125" and "Big Generator". Rabin has more in common with Howe than most people think. Like Howe, he is an extremely creative rock guitarist who managed to avoid all those clichees we have heard in abundance for the last 30 years or so. His only problem is that there is just no place for another guitarist next to Howe. God bless both of them.
Ahhh, I thought I was the only one who disliked Rabin's playing here. It just doesn't belong at all. Not that it is necessarily bad, but... in this context, it's awful.
Also, I don't even mean his playing in this cilp. I didn't realize this wasn't the entire song and was referring to his extended solo later on after Howe's. Howe plays fast, nimbly and tastefully - Rabin's playing has more of a HEY MOM LOOK AT ME GO thing to it.
What is important is the yes music continues. They are all brilliant musicians and I will go and see Yes no matter who is in the band as long as they maintain the quality which they always do.Long live Yes music.

Rabin just...ick. And I wish it was just Bruford playing the drums. I always felt Alan sounded heavy handed playing these same parts.
