Strange Bug: Click Beetle

I am living in Florida and see a lot of strange things but this takes the cake. A beetle that has luminescent spots and has a hinge that allows it to flex and jump and it makes a clicking sound.
The "Click Beetle" is part of the Elateridae family.

Click beetles are related to fireflies, but what is interesting is that there are species of cockroach (a completely different insect) with glowspots in this very same pattern.

OMG! Those things are so scary......I was just sitting in my bed and all of a sudden i hear a clicking noise i look over down on the ground next to my bed and this little bug is clicking and bouncing around.....I immediatly screamed out to my mum and dad O..O
