An afternoon in the bush workshop, making a bullroarer (Schwirrholz) and some more pictures.
Ash tree wood
Herbertz Machete (25cm) ( http://www.hkgt.de/shop/messer/macheten/herbertz-machete-3.html )
Mora 711 ( http://www.hkgt.de/shop/messer/mora-of-sweden/k-j-eriksson-arbeitsmesser.html )
... and most important of all: cinnamon bun.

Tips: a) Make it thinner. b) The cord should be given a slight initial twist before starting the rotation.

  • @snaponjohn100 ... anytime John. Take care, Tim

  • Nice job Tim!

How many bull answered for your roaring? More than enough to cook your newyear's dinner? :-)

Happy new year to you and your family!

  • @JacobTheRedWolf Thank you! :o)

  • Nice craftsmanship on that.

  • @goldenscales Hey, good tip! Thanks mate! Best greetings, Tim

  • When I was watching you drill a hole into your bullroarer, it made think of this: when I was in the bush, I always took a short length of no.8 wire with me. You heat up the end in a fire and use that to drill the hole. very quick and easier. Plus, you can use the wire to hang your billy or pots over the fire when cooking.
