  • @YTMNDMadMax Yea, in some ways, but it was a hanger queen and a mechanics nightmare. The front landing gear alone was enough to make any Crew Chief pull his hair out.

  • FYI, the pronunciation used in the clip was used by some members of the Deutschendorf family, while others used the pronuciation often heard when John would refer to his dad's side of the family. I'm not sure why the difference. It made for some lively discussion at our get togethers.

  • @sedona05 I heard john denvers father was in the USAF but i didnt know he flew B-58s the leading theory was john denver hit a pelican when he crashed his plane

  • @lubbockboy1 man, by all means pat urself on the back and think urself original for that slammin hit on my dead grandfathers last name

  • Grew up in Fort Worth. When the B36 quit flying the B58s took over. At that time they still would break sound barrier over the town. This aircraft would have been exceptional if the engines now were available then. It just could not pass a gas station. Idea was very good Air frame ahead of its time.

  • Pretty cool footage. There is some resemblance but JD definitely looked like his Mom (rest her soul, she just past early this year). He smiled like her. His brother Ron looks like their Dad. Thanks for posting. Yes, I'll bet they were very proud of their Dad...

  • Fantastic video, the B-58 Hustler was an amazing aircraft.

  • "Douche n dork" is the proper pronunciation or should be.

  • John Denver,s father for everyone who likes to see is, thanks to blackwhimsy

  • I think 3 of Dutch's world records still stand.
