Something Weird She Freak

"There are only two kinds of freaks, ladies and gentlemen, those created by God and those made by man. The creature in the pit is a living breathing human being... Look if you must..." Not one of producer DAVID F. FRIEDMAN's nudies and only a horror film at its climax, She Freak is best described as carny-noir. Jade Cochran (CLAIRE BRENNEN) is a bored waitress in a roadside cafe: "If I'm ever gonna be somebody, I'm wasting my time in this filth pit!" So when BEN MOORE (one of the Two Thousand Maniacs!) stops in to put up a poster for a carnival, Jade immediately tells her boss she's leaving to join it. He's not happy: "You get out of here you carnival tramp!" Slinging hash at the carnival, Jade soon sinks her ambitious hooks into Steve St. John, owner of the sideshow exhibit. Problem number one is that Jade hates the sideshow freaks: "They're so horrible! I'd rather you ran the insane asylum!" - Something Weird
