My sister and I used to hang out with the Mohawks in the late 60’s. I 'went out with' their drummer Charles and we accompanied them to a few of their gigs in Birmingham and London. They were a great band, fun to be with and loved dressing up on stage. When this track was released the English radio DJ's were very scornful and refused to play it saying it was sacrilege to cover a Beetle composition with a Reggie beat! But they stayed very positive about their music. Where are they now I wonder?
i first heard a reggae version of "let it be"late 60's wolverhampton loved it ever since thanks for posting --- syd

Not sure who it was, a black busker. It was in the Acropolis/Akropoli area.

Who was it that you heard do a reggae version? Which Athen's area (state, etc)are you talking about? Just curious.
